Published: 29 May 2018Title: Phase 3 - Water Restrictions / Fase 3 - WaterbeperkingsStatus: CAPE AGULHAS MUNICIPALITY PHASE 3 - WATER RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that in terms of Water By-Laws of 3 October 2005, Section 46, the Municipal Manager imposes the following water restrictions in Cape Agulhas Municipal Area from 9 February 2018 until further notice due to low rainfall and limited water sources. The current dam levels, supplying water to Cape Agulhas Municipality are nearing the 30% level. The following water restrictions are imposed: The new water restrictions are 20kl per household and 50kl per business per month. Any household or business exceeding the restriction will be liable to pay the approved higher tariffs applicable to their usage. Consumers are requested to manage their water usage within the restrictions. Please note: House owners and tenants are advised to read water meters daily to identify leakages speedily and to manage water usage effectively. For enquiries or if assistance is needed, please contact your local municipal offices. Water is a shared resource. Don’t use more than your share. Save water. Enige huishouding of besigheid wat die beperking oorskry, sal aanspreeklik wees vir die betaling van die goedgekeurde hoër tariewe wat op hulle gebruik van toepassing is. Financial Internship (2 years contract)

Closing Date: 24 August 2017
Salary: R96 000 – R120 000 per annum

This is a capacity building initiative by National Treasury with the aim of creating financial capacity within the municipalities. The program aims to provide graduates (interns) with the opportunity to be exposing to the various functionalities within a municipal financial environment as follows:

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B Degree candidates will receive preference
  • Diploma in Finance/ Accounting or 2-year equivalent tertiary qualification with at least Financial Management, Financial Accounting and/or Auditing/Internal Auditing as main subject in the final year
  • Fairly good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy with practical experience
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence
  • Literate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape

 

FUNCTIONS:

  • General financial Management, with reference to the Financial Management Act 56 of 2003 as well as other legislation to the municipality
  • Expenditure management and related activities
  • Income and Cash Management and related activities
  • Supply chain management and related activities
  • Budget management and related activities
  • Financial accounting (processing of transactions)
  • Internal controls, auditing and risk management activities
  • Compilation of the annual Financial Statements
  • Ad-hoc functions and responsibilities within the municipal sphere.

 

Dit is ‘n kapasiteits bou initiatief vanaf Nasionale Tesourie met die doel om finansiële kapasiteit binne munisipale finansies te bevorder. Die program het ten doel om gegradueerdes (interns) die geleentheid te bied om blootstelling te verkry in die verskillende funksies binne ‘n munisipale omgewing soos volg:

 

VEREISTES:

  • B-graad kandidate sal voorkeur ontvang
  • ‘n Diploma in Finansies/ Rekeningkunde of 2-jaar-ekwivalente tersiêre kwalifikasie met minstens Finansiële Bestuur, Finansiële Rekeningkunde en / of Ouditkunde / Interne Ouditkunde as hoofvak in die finale jaar
  • Redelik goeie geskrewe en verbale kommunikasievaardighede
  • Rekenaargeletterdheid met praktiese ervaring
  • Geldige Kode B bestuurderslisensie
  • Ten minste magtig in twee van die drie amptelike tale van die Wes-Kaap

 

FUNKSIES:

  • Algemene finansiële bestuur, met verwysing na die Munisipale Bestuurswet 56 van 2003 sowel as ander wetgewing van toepassing op die munisipaliteit.
  • Uitgawes bestuur en verwante aktiwiteite
  • Inkomste en kontant bestuur en verwante aktiwiteite
  • Voorsiening kanaal bestuur en verwante aktiwiteite
  • Begroting bestuur en verwante aktiwiteite
  • Finansiële rekeningkunde (te boek stel van transaksies)
  • Interne kontrole ouditering en risikobestuur
  • Blootstelling aan die opstel van jaarlikse Finansiële state
  • Diverse funksies en verantwoordelikhede binne die munisipale bestel
